With an acute shortage of lifeguards threatening to ruin the summer fun of Brooklyn kids, Inclusive Community Wellness (ICW) provided free Red Cross Lifeguard / CPR certification to 16 qualified candidates, 14 of whom passed.
LIU Spring 2023 Swim Program
LIU Brooklyn has restarted it’s popular learn-to-swim programs on Saturday mornings. Running through the months of March, April, May and June, there’s ample opportunity for children ages 2 - 12 to get comfortable in the water.

When Brooklyn kids needed summer swim lessons, ICW stepped up with a free pop-up swim program that provided hundreds of lessons over a month.
Adult Learn-to-Swim
New York City has many learn to swim programs for children but almost none for adults. This ICW initiative will provide many more opportunities for grown-ups to get safely in the water.
